They charge a fee in return for access to their list of tips for that day, or week. Some post their tips for all to see after the event has lapsed so as to give a good example of how successful they really are, and to tempt potential customers to sign up and hand over their hard-earned cash.
Some tipsters are genuinely successful with their betting picks, but it makes one wonder why they should need our money if they are (supposedly) making plenty of money anyway? Wouldn’t they just keep quiet to avoid influencing the odds?
The problem with following tipsters is that there are a lot of bets to place for any potential profits to be gained. The typical quote goes along the lines of; If you had followed my tips since the start of the season you would have made this much profit! Sounds good, but the profits can be quite low for a large outlay. Sometimes it would be much wiser to put the money in a high interest bank account.
One such tipster, who shall remain nameless, even admitted that he had placed a large windfall he had recently received into his betting account to see if he could make more money betting than his bank would have given him in interest. It has worked so far, but it is grossly irresponsible to encourage others to gamble with the equivalent of their life savings!
